help x3 on a 1.6b.

Alright, so here's my problem... I installed the chip, and I got it to the flashbios screen, and I got it to flash, it shuts down, and then I boot up, I get a blank screen, and an amberlight on my box. It can boot normally.

I tried using flashbios 3.0.1 and 3.0.3, now... I can't get back to flashbio's screen, no matter what setting I put my chip on... Am I S.O.L? Or is there a way around this? Is there a way to unflash it?

I forgot to mention, I get a solid green, then goes to amber.

I attempted resoldering 13 and 14, still nothing.

try power eject at sametime to get flashbios on backup bank if you have a v1.6b then this will not work
you have tryed on on off off off or off on off off off
you need to flash it with x3 3294 v16 plus bios

You have killed your only working bios....

1.6b does not work with FlashBIOS 3.0.1, which is what on the backup bios.
Switch settings (off on off off) was the only bank that would of worked...
You need to borrow someone else with a non 1.6b Xbox and X3 installed to flash your chip with the correct bios.
If they have a 1.6b and X3 chip, you can hotswap.

Once you have flashed your chip remember to reflash your backup bios with FlashBIOS 3.0.3

No pc apps + cables I could possibly buy to fix this issue? Or if I soft mod, is it possible to unflash it that way?

This sucks, no one I know has this chip... I can't do a hot swap... I just followed what http://www.xbox-modchips.com/tutorials/flashbios-tutorial.htm told me to do... I guess I was a little misled with the 3.0.3 NEWEST VERSION bull crap. I seriously feel like just tossing this out the window already...

Probably have to send it back for reflashing... you can't undo a flash.. thats why there is a backup which is useless for 1.6b I guess..

You should of read many posts in here mentioned to change the switches to ON ON OFF OFF once you are in FlashBIOS, which flashes over FlashBIOS 3.0.1, not 3.0.3 your only working bios...
It was also looked at point d in that flashbios tutorial.. and the end note...

d. FlashBIOS v3.03 may not work on v1.6 in some cases (works great on v1.6b) - at time of press this is being investigated and we recommend you use v3.01 for v1.6 - this tutorial is exactly the same for that version.


If you get a black video screen then you most probably have a new v1.6b Xbox (check to see if the system RAM is made by Hynix) and you have an older version of FlashBIOS. You will need to send it back to your installer to get it updated to FlashBIOS v3.03 or see if you can get a friend to do it for you. Remember FRAG = Faulty Install, Black Screen = New Xbox/Old Bios
