I've installed the Xecuter 2.6, (Soldered)
Turned the power on, and the led comes on the chip, as well as on the switch, but it boots directly to the default xbox dash for some reason?
I've tried fiddling with the switch, but nothing.
Can anyone help me solve this?
Thanks.

you need to check your D0 point, sounds like it isn't making good contact with the point on the board

Checked it, it's fine.
Now it's doing that frag thing, where it turns off and on. Grrr

double chek the install, make sure all points are good,it only takes 1 bad point,if this is happening sounds to me like theres a bad 1 somewhere

also make sure that the swtich cable is properly connected at both ends of external swtich and chip
you may have to play around with the swtiches

Did you do a pinheader or wire install? What version is your Xbox? How did you check the switches?

I am having the same trouble.

It is a 1.2 xbox, and With the chip installed all LED's come on on the switch and the chip, but it boots to the xbox dash. I put a Xenium chip in from another box and that mod chip by just sticking the D0 wire into the connector for the HD/LAN/D0. The Xenuim booted fine. So I know the D0 is soldered correctly.

I thought that there may not be any flash bios on the chip so i picked up a programmer, flash bios 3.03 was on bank 2, and an unknown on bank 1. For fun I put flash bios 3.01 on bank 1, but still get the same thing.
I took an x3 and put it in, and the xecuter logo just lights red even when trying to boot using the power and eject buttons.

Could this be a problem with the pinheaders since the x2.6 uses more pins than the Xenium?

any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

It could be an install problem. It sounds like the switch on the X2 isn't working, and that's why it is booting to the Microsoft dashboard. Try flipping the enable/disable switch a few times to see if that helps.

When the X3 logo is red, what does the Xbox do?
