I just had the Xecuter 3 put in my box. Everything was working fine then i was playing NFSU 2 and the screen went black. I turned the power off then on and it came up fine. Since then about 5 min into every game my screen shuts off. My fan is working and the box isnt in a hot place. Any thoughts

The person who did your xbox may have used the wrong bios ie, 1.6b bios for a 1.6 or a 1.6 bios for a 1.6b. Ask them to come and take a look at it.

Yeah, sounds like that is the problem. Sounds more like yours is a 1.6b.

P.S. What part of Houston are you from?

Cool cool. I'm from The Woodlands. Anyway. Check the 1.6b guide and make sure you have the bios on the right bank. Just follow that and everything should work out fine. They are really great guides for troubleshooting problems like that.

The outside pannel that is on the x3. It has switches on it. Those are used to change the bank it reads from or flashes to. There should be a diagram somewhere on here. Look for it and look at the flashing guide and set it how it needs to be for the 1.6.

Oh yeah, and if it is a 1.6b you need to use flashbios 3.0.3.

Re: jtag help

search and download jtag tool.....
1 select lpt or usb
2 select type motherboard
3. read nand - do it three times
4. write xell
5. connect drive to xbox and power on with eject button
6. get cpu key read lines "set 03: & set 05:"
7. type both sets into cpu key box in jtag tool.
8. hit the button to create freeboot.bin - don't select options for no drive or smc i/o hack unless they apply to you
9. select write and select the freeboot image you just created

if everything went good then you should be able boot into you newly jtagg'd console.

i made you do 3 dumps of your original bin to verify that you have a good dump if you have program to compare dumps to verify you have 2 good dumps then you only need to do 2.

if you have a question shoot me an pm and ask.
