help!

After installing the X3 Mod chip in my 1.5 XBox I plugged it in and it immediatly turned on. I got to the FlashBios screen and noticed it was read only so i made sure that the flash protect was off on both the chip and the external switch. Then i tried to flash the chip but i got the unknown flash! halting message. I have tried flashing many times in all methods with still no luck. I have the xapt3r so its not a soldering problem and i'm using the x3_1959 bios so that should be good.

anyone have any ideas what else i can try?

unplug the ext. switch from the chip and see if it will flash.

tried that but it didnt work.... no matter what way i set the switches i get the read only message and i cant flash

Did you unplug it at the chip or just unplug the switch? If you just unpluged the switch then you should unplug directly at the chip... Give it a shot!!

i nhave tried unplugging everything fro the chip.... external switch and power/eject adapter but still no joy

slide the switch on the chip back and forth a couple of times, maybe the switch is stuck. if all theis does not help, send the chip back and get a new one.
