I have a v1.1 with an Xecuter 3 chipand original HD...all was fine til this week I tried to go into my file manager and it kept freezing. I then tried to boot up without the chip and it fragged with an error message, but now when I try it flashes red and no error screen. This is weird cuz i've gone into the original msDash before and it worked fine. But it does work fine when the Xecuter chip is on, i can play games and save and play off my HD. I'm new at this so could someone please help? I haven't opened it back up yet to check the solder job but like i said it did work fine til this week.

use Slayer to repaire any files that may have been deleted. You can boot this from disk with the chip on.

slayers is a bootable version of evox that have many options to build HDD's etc. It can be found in the usual places (same place you found your BIOS.

Maybe your avalaunch dash's config file has incorrect text about the file manager. Just try the slayer's evo x disc as mentioned above and that should work. If you're worried about losing avalaunch, just use evo x's file manager to move the avalaunch files to a different drive and manually launch it when you want to by finding the default.xbe file and pressing A on it when selected.

Sorry again...was just wondering if I needed to do anything special with the Slayer's...can I just burn the program or do I have to make an ISO?

Download it, extract it and use the "Burn an Image" option in Nero.
