ok all i can say is good shot - the ide cable could eb an issue - i can boot the box up to flash bios almost perfect everytime without a cable in - but with my xbox ide in its half and half - sometimes perfect boot into flash bios - sometimes the power cuts on and off a few times then in to flash bios - any ideas where teh problem lies? plug? thanks

mm sorry correction - its still random to be honest when it decides to boot - sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt

im in scotland - uk - im just spit balling here but if the chip works, the hhd works, the ide cable works, the dvd drive works and basically everythign else would the oriblem not be the mother board?

Was the xbox dropped or anything? Sounds like there is a loose connection somewhere, and that's why you are getting random problems. Are the error codes still showing up?

wow long time on here - there is a chance it could have been dropped - it was carried to a point in a bag then i gave it to my friend and he could have dropped it.
