Ok i have a strange situation here...brand new X3 chip never used
wire installed into a v1.0 xbox (d0 connected to the underside d0 point)
hdd, lan also connected..everything looks fine..put it back together
pressed power..started up (no picture or sound on screen) ..wierd..
solid green light, X logo is blue and 2 blue lights on modchip are also solid.
attempt to boot backup..X turns purple starts up shuts of immediatly powers back on..X is then blue and continues the above described situation..(no sound or picture on screen) altho insted of the eject light being solid green
it flashes green...ok tried holding power button in..same thing X goes red
powers off immediatly and does the same as what i just said above..
with modchip tottaly unpluged it FRAGS .. and still no picture nor sound
im absolutly dumbstruck as to what is the problem... i did 3 xboxs today
two of which where 1.6B's fitted with an X3 and X2.6 both worked perfect...
this one just wont play ball.. have tried re soldering pins 13&14 a couple times. no change :S

if it frags with the chip taken out, its undoubtably an install issue, check and make sure all your joints are fine and that there arent any solder splashes and tripple check that the wires are soldered to the correct points, even if you think your sure, check again!, the very first time i had to do a wire install i put one of the wires on the wrong connection and had about the same results

thanks for the responce..ill keep checking my work..
ill be a bit dissapointed with my self if i cant repair it
as this is the second xbox to die in my attempts to install
an X3...

Liteon 93450c problem

I have a problem. I used jf to flash the box. It erased the firmware fine and than froze. I don't have any of the kits out there on it. Now jf is not picking up the drive nor is iprep. In jf it gives the code 0x7f. I have been online for days and tried many things any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

the drive itself can be recovered - but without the key its just a dvd player. Were you using a VIA card ? did you remove the drivers like the tutorial tells you to?

i used jf to flah as if you were doing an earlier model. everything the tutorial said to do. Eveything went normally till time to write than comp froze and I didn't get a chance to save the key.

jungleflasher has a key verification component to it now

if you actually found the key, chances are jungleflasher added it to its database

how did you not save any of the firmware dumps?

I didn't get a chance. Any suggestions on how to get the drive reecognized. I tried switching sata ports and no luck.

Found the database no key for the liteon there. any other suggestions? just one for a benq i did a couple days ago.

let me get this straight

you erased a lite-on without dumping?

or you erased without saving a dump of OFW?

how did you dump your keys?

I used jf 1.75 and it picked up the drive. I know sounds crazy but it did. I dumped the firmware. in the midst of loading the new firmware in jf. my comp froze. Couldn't get it to recognizw it again. finally switched to 4th different sata and whalla recognized. wrote the firmware iextreme. now the drive is only reading as dvd. made some progress lol. no key in database. Is it possible to dump the fw without pulling the key? Is the key still in the drive?

I dont understand if it didnt pull the key how did it dump the firmware? the drive was locked. no eject no nothing. blinking light and all?? a little confused here...

what method did you use to dump the firmware?

MRA hack?
probe v2?

homemade solder job?

Thats what im saying. All i used was jf. Thats it nothing else and it picked up the drive. Just like doing the older liteon drives.

I am on jungle flasher 0.1.75 right now looking at the drive. nothing done to the drive at all as far as hardware.

where can i find that? sorry to sound like a noob. I have done quite a few drives but never had a problem
