Backup is 301 so a 1.6b COULD be a problem, but here's what I'd do;
When you boot to the backup, give it say,...30 seconds, HOPE that it initialized properly. (I would use the M$ DVD remote on con port 1 and NO other cons for best result.)
Press the Select button on the remote, (First selection is HTTP)
Now, if you don't know what IP your network was previosly assigning your Xbox, then find out what your router gave it.
Open up Internet Explorer, type in the IP you think your Xbox is, and IF everything went well on the box's end, AND you have the proper IP, then you should see the Flashbios Flashing page.
Select the Bios you want to flash, select the BANKS on the SWITCH that you wish to flash, and proceed with the flashing.
IF for some reason your box doesn't take it, say, 5 minutes after you started the flash and the webpage said it had started, shut it down by hand and see what happenned.
IMPORTANT!!!! When you first get the Flash webpage up I would suggest selecting one of the 256K banks and put FlashBios 3.0.3 on it. (I would suggest putting it on several banks.
UNDERSTAND!! When you start your Xbox with one of the 256K banks that you have flashed 3.0.3 in, you can THEN select one of the 1 MB banks that does NOT INCLUDE the 256K 3.0.3 Bios!
(You only use the 3.0.3 Bios to get the box started, not to run it!)
