Hi ive just got my xecuter3 installed into my 1.6 version xbox and i burnt the bios onto a dvd and started to flash it and then realised i burnt the wrong bios on the dvd i put the X3_1959 instead of the X3_1959_v16plus like i needed for a 1.6 version so the flasher flashed it with the wrong bios and then shutdown so i started the xbox up again to go reflash it but now when i try to eject the tray to get the flasher menue the xbox just flashes red it then takes a couple presses to get it to eject and i dont get the flasher menue anymore that gives you the option to flash the bios is there anyway i can fix this i hope i havnt wrecked my chip, thanks hope someone can help.

the great thing about this forum is that the answers are out there if you look but seeing as you need help here goes, press the eject and power buttons together, this will take you to the back up bios so you can reflash the main banks of your chip. (This is actually a very usefull feature of the chip that is widely promoted in all the information about the chip on every resellers websites)

Hi thanks for your help,i actually did that and this is what i got from the results i flashed the banks 1-4 and when it was finished this is how my xbox works now when the xbox is powered down and i give the power button a quick press it will boot straight to the orriginal microsoft dash, and the other option is if my xbox is turned of (powered down) and i press the eject button it will then boot to the menue where i can configuer the xbox live bios tools disks tool and all the other options on the menue, but the thing that bugs me if the chip was flashed properly shouldnt the xbox be booting to that menue by just quick pressing the power button and not having to press the eject button to get there, could you tell me how a properly setup chip should work what happens when you quick press your power button

a very quick tap of the power button brings on the blue LED on the switch panel and the box boots to either X3 config live or the installed dashboard, it depends how the chip is configured. if you can get to the config live menu tru reseting the chip to default settings and see if that makes a difference. hope this helps

:D :) :D

Hi sorry for a late reply my internet has been down for the last couple days i think i managed to get the chip working by playing around with the bios,in the X3 config live menue it says X3 detected dip bank 1-4 so if im seeing that does that mean its setup properly or is that still using the backup bios, also one thing that has me wondering when i installed the latest slayers 2.6 installer with evolutionx 3935 and on the first page of evox when the dash first boots up its says the size of each partition temps ect but for the bios evox says unknown it it supposed to say that shouldnt it say my xbox has the X3 bios im interested to see what its says on other peoples xboxs to see if ive set it up right.

Flashing a drive

Hi guys bit of a noob questions here.
I have recently sold my troublesome E74 error on and i am now looking to purchase another machine on ebay or something and have a couple of questions.

1) Are all xboxes flashable and if not what ones are not
2) Is the liteon drive harder to flash the benq

Thanks in advance.

Re: Flashing a drive

1: Yes all are
2: Benq is by far easier in my opinion, Liteons require a probe.

Re: Flashing a drive

A probe is a tool that makes the process of extracting a key from a Lite-On drive totally solderless, it basically simplifies the process slightly.

I might add that the probe is only of use to a stock 74850c liteon dg-16d2s, not all liteons. (unless you have a probe v2)
All drives are easy to install ixtreme to, all you need is jungleflasher, makes it a breeze!

Thanks for the reply guys
If I have a CK3 Pro v3 I should be able to flash all drives with no additional hardware right?

Anybody know the answer?
I also would like to know if the latest firmware for the hitachi is 151 and is it the only option?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Flashing a drive

Cheers i will have a look. I flashed a mates hitachi drive a few days back using my CK3 Probe with no problems. Could it be because i changed some settings?
Is the probe faulty?
How do i know if the tray is half open correctly, if i can see the drive properites i guess its correct?
So many questions
