hello fellows.
bad news. i was updating my firmware and in the middle of the process my brother hit the off button. 8O then i tried to turn on again and the hole thing was gone. my hitachi player is dead? can someone help me before i spank my brother?

Ok, what exactly happened? When did it freeze? Can you still get the drive into modeB? What version of hitachi do you have?

Do you still have an orig.bin or a backup file for the original firmware on the USB/Floppy?

How are you trying to get into ModeB? Have you tried two-wire/resistor trick to get back into ModeB? Many times with "bricked" drives Slax will fail, but the two-wire may still get the drive into ModeB.

If you can't get it back into ModeB, then you will have to pay somebody to desolder the firmware chip and reprogram it externally, or buy a new drive if you have a good original firmware.
