Hitachi 0059DJ (NEED HELP)

Hi all,

I have a Hitachi 0059DJ drive and a VIA6421A sata card. I used the 2 wire trick. To my amazement, i got into mode-b. but when i connected my sata cable to my pc and turned it on, windows cant detect the drive.

I also checked whether its in mode-b and it is cos the light keeps on flashing and i need to clicks to open or close the tray. But im not sure on the disabling raid in bios cos i have no such options. i can only disable the sata card in the device manager. is it the one or is it not?

I already updated my sata drives, populate at the disc management, scan for new hardware in device manager and still to no avail. Windows still doesnt show up the drive.

PLS, I NEED HELP BADLY. Thanks.

Try going through add/remove hardware autodetect

Ok,

If it's in ModeB make sure that you eject the drive back and forth ALL THE TIME while your windows is booting this is one os the main reasons, also make sure that u didn't install the RAID software tool which comes with the card.

I would say why you didn't try to use the SLAX 2.1? as I flashed more than one Hitachi 59 with the SLAX with 100% success.

Thanks everyone for the help. But i get the thing done. I detached all my sata drives on my mobo and connected the sata drive from the 360 to my mobo but not my sata card. and voila~! it worked using slax 2.0. im now playing backups already. hehe.
