Hitachi 046 Spoofed As 079, Do I have to use the unlock CD?

I bought a drive to replace a Samsung I had spoofed as a Hitachi in my box. The drive I bought was a 046 my original was an 047. The problem is, the drive I bought was spoofed as a 079. When I hooked it up to JF, it reported as an 079. I could get it into mode-B just fine, but when I tried the read command, it gave me a "ram upload fail," or a "ram poke" failure. I didn't know if that was because it was spoofed as a 079 or not.

Thanks in advance,

-Dom

i do NOT recommend spoofing at any point

however, make sure you have the 47 radio button ticked in the hitachi tab, that should let you restore original firmware

I guess I don't understand my other options then. If it originally had a Hitachi which is long since gone, but I have the OG firmware, then what else can I do. It was a 047, I found and bought an 046, that is reporting as an 079. So all I can do is use my drive key from the original drive and flash the 047 right? Thank again for your help.
