GENERAL hitachi 079 and lt plus 1.91

hi guys,

just got my m8's xbox 360 which was on dash 126 etc and he wanted it updated to the latest dashboard and firmware.so i did the following:

1)flashed back to stock (all went ok)tested with originals.
2)updated to the latest dashboard.
3)flashed to the latest hitachi firmware lt plus 1.91.

when i insert an original it will boot fine no worries there,but when i stick in a backup it just says unreconized disc.thinking flash when wrong i extracted the dump and it said lt plus 1.91 (strange).i then repeated steps 1 to 3 again and same thing,any ideas as to why this is happening never had this problem b4?

forgot to say when i insert a backup after it not being able to boot i get status code error 03-57-00.only happens with backups and not originals.never happened on lt plus 1.1.tried going back to that and the same thing happens.

normally if backups are not booting but originals are id say its your laser, but i think you are saying backups were booting fine before you went back to stock and updated, is this correct?

just noticed you said when you try going back to lt 1.1 the same thing happens. im gonna say your lens is on its way out

To the OP can you post your JF Flash log if that's good then it sounds like you have a weak lens..

no worries i will go throught the steps again and post the log for you.i replaced the lense on that drive a few months ago and all was ok.my m8 just said that all backups were running find.johnny2good i thought that was a real fly/ant crawling around my screen for a second there lol.

let me start by saying i know how crazy this looks but trust me it can work wonders on hitachi drives sometimes and i have had many successes with it and as far as i know there is a console of mine with this done to it still playing backups 2-3 YEARS later. http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php/Xbox360HitachiOpenTrayFix
takes about ten minutes to do.
if you try it, it would be nice to know how you get on, whichever way it turns out mate.

done what you said garageinc and still no joy.read originals but not backups.had to remove the wee bit of plastic as it would not even read my unlock cd in the hitachi 079 drive.once i removed it,drive read the cd ok.please find below the jungle flasher log of me going from ltplus 1.91 to stock and then back to ltplus 1.91.

can u still spoof a drive on the latest dash or is that a thing of the past.just asking as i have a liteon 74850 and a samsung ms28 still here both working last time i checked?

p.s that bug looks so real johnny2good lol.would the lense from the samsung ms28 fit an hitachi 079?
