Hitachi 1.51

I have an old Hitachi still with 1.51, which has worked up to this point. Haven't update my dashboard/system update to the most recent (13599). Will this update affect my system/ability to play games? I don't ever play or plan to play online. I have I believe either the 78 or 79.

Yes, you must update your firmware as some future games will not work with 1.51

What dashboard are you on now? If you update to the latest dashboard I suspect that it will return your drive to stock firmware and you will no longer be able to play backups. You will need to flash your firmware again. This is the only way to play newer games though as the newer games will update the dashboard anyway.
