[SOLVED] hitachi 46 not showing anymore
I understand this basic problem has been asked a million and one times, I have flashed many drives of all types, but I am having issues and have spent all day reading forums and trying the same things over and over again with no luck. So, here is my question :
I am trying to use a really old Compaq PC to do this since my usual computer just died. It is running XP with SP3
.net 4.0
portio32 installed
via 6421 (tried with raid drivers there and removed, neither seems to work)
the drive is a Hitachi 46, it is pre-flashed with LT (I believe it was 1.0 or 1.1, the xbox dash currently is either 12611 or 12625, forgot specifically, but it was first or second dash for Kinect stuff
The computer device manager does not see this drive and neither does jungleflasher using portio or win api
now the strange....
I have been playing with this for a couple days now and all yesterday the port io option on top of hitachi tab was greyed out, well today I open up jungleflasher and win api is marked and the port io option is now available so I looked on left side and there is my drive also, there it is key listed in the output window at bottom. So, rather than proceeding like an intelligent person and just extracting and flashing I decide that I need to click port IO just because I am wondering why it all of a sudden is available and showing on left side when WIN API is selected. immediately drive disappears and after about 6 hours I have been unable to get it recognized again. If I click mode b and cycle it says MODE B done! at bottom and inquires correctly, but it never shows in port properties or in drive dropdown box. what is going on? why does it not even show up in device manager, port properties or drive list. can I still proceed since it says it is in Mode-B? I don't image so, but ...... any ideas?
Oh, and it is JF v0.1.9.0Beta(newest version )
