Why are you powering the drive from the console?

The USB Pro v2 includes the CK3i which is used to power your drive ;).

Play DVD on Hitachi drives can sometimes be related to a bad laser - have you tried replacing it?

You will find that this is common when trying to play XGD3 backups because they put more strain on the laser.

It could as well be a bad laser, or the magnet inside stuck at the wrong place. Does it sound like it spins up as its supposed to or is it making bad sounds? I would lift the case of it to se if something is wrong and if not, change laser.

I think it's a bad dvdkey, try dumping the drive again and see what dvdkey it shows after the dump. then try spoofing your original dvdkey and reflash. I think you forgot to spoof your dvdkey.

#JungleFlasher
you dont spoof keys with hitachi
jf doesnt touch key area,LT plus is added to the drive by modifying sectors,
and jf restores modified sectors to restore the drive to stock,
either way, key is untouched by jungleflasher.

Or maybe it's not his original drive,if it's the original drive, then try using another version of JF because i had issues with 0.1.92 version with slim drives that gave play dvd after flashing with JF ver. 0.1.92. try flashing it with version 0.1.91.

I'm not the original owner of this xbox. I do not know if its the right key or not. Jungle flasher says key verified. ( if that helps ) Whats the easiest way to retrieve the right key so I can make it work properly. The disc spins and loads to play dvd while spinning normal. When I put a dvd in it plays the dvd. It is reading games as dvd's. thank you for all your help everyone I really appreciate

What dashboard are you on? Depending on what dash the console is on your gonna need to rgh the console to get the correct osig and key.

First hitachi drive with play dvd error has dashboard : 2.0.13599.0 ( this is the one the original question is about )

I also have another hitachi drive practically same thing it says (unplayable Disc): Dashboard is : 2.0.5759.0

Thank you

P.s I ordered the molar to usb power last night. Good call didn't know they had that

do you have 2 consoles?if yes then you can make the console with the unplayable disk error to work with the playdvd error drive ( by spoofing the unplay. drive key to the playdvd error drive).because the unplayable disk error is most likely a laser problem not a dvdkey problem like the first one.

I do have two consoles I would like to get them both working. You say unplayable disc error is bad laser? I did as instructed I spoofed the ( dvd Play error ) for the (unplayable disc) it works. Now for the drive with unplayable disc error what is the fix? thank you so much everyone

---------- Post added at 19:05 ---------- Previous post was at 18:57 ----------

How can I recover the correct key for the unit that had the ( play dvd error ) it is a working console just needs the drive? dashboard 2.0.13599.0 that way when I get a laser I can recover correct key

p.s its a xenon chipset
