Hello to all.Im kind of a noob in the whole xbox360 modding scene.
My problem is after bricking a Liteon drive which cant get in vendor mode i decided to flash a hitachi 47 drive. The flash went ok but since im a nooooob i spoofed it with the wrong key.
No problem.I had to just revert the original firmware and flash it back. But i messed up again i managed to flash my hitachi 47 with the Liteon original firmware.
Now the drive shows up in windows as an Xbox Drive.Accepts Send Mode B normally.Ansewrs 0x50 when trying to get in vendor mode. But the J.F. log says no hitachi drives found and cant reflash it.Is there a way to reprogram it?I also own a external professional ISP programmer.Thank you

Unfortunately this is why you should be following the JF PDF. All Hitachi operations are performed in the 'Hitachi' tab - there is no way you'd manage to screw up like this.

You've not written Lite-on firmware to the drive (else it wouldn't even power on) - you've spoofed it.

Post your JF log please - you should NOT be trying to get it into vendor mode.

Also it can be done.I loaded the original source firmware of liteon just to spoof the hitachi firmware.Later it asked me to revert the original firmware .Pressed yes and it flashed the liteon firmware to the hitachi

I wonder if he got his DVDkey before it got bricked, he said something about the wrong DVDKey earlier. Ive only seen one liteon that was bricked beyond recovery, I simply threw away the PCB and moved on, however, were talking about a spare PCB which was not vital to anyone. Like Martin said earlier, Hitachi drives are different to other drives, hence, it has its own tab in JF.

The problem I see here is using a Hitachi Drive in the 1st place, assuming the original drive is a Lite-on, why use another drive to compensate, its not LIVE safe and will automatically fail any AP25 check and will basically end up in a banned console. For those who say, "Oh, but I don't go online, so I'm okay, well, your not, if you get on a recent update whether that be by game disc or online, you system will be updated with security updates and you will be flagged and finally banned once you get online. So even if you were just simply trying to save money by using a Hitachi drive in place of your Liteon, you will pay for it with a nice permanent ban from Xbox Live, all because you didnt want to buy a proper replacement drive.
