what are critical update firmwares?

when I go play online, and the 360 asks me to update the system, will anything bad happen to the 360?

Well all it means is you could keep this firmware for ages you don't have to update to eveyone that is released if you get my meaning.

As to online gaming it's not illegal to mod your 360 nor play backups of games you own... but you are breaking the terms of service agreed by you when you signed up to xboxlive by having a modded 360...no body as of yet has been banned from xbox but i'm sure at some point in the future the cookie jar will open lol.

i play online with all my backups hope this helps

p.s i forgot to answer one of the Q's lol

I take it you mean Dashboard updates well they are a cookie jar in them selves i close my eyes when my updates and so does everyone lol modded or not as so many 360's have been bricked because of the updates imo.
