ok went thru the tutorials and flashed a hitachi 78fk drive today i used the slax method to get the drive into mode B and it was clearly in modeB when i booted to windows, it showed up in windows fine, went thru flashing the drive just how the tut sayed, then powered the xbox 360 off, but it was still hooked up to the pc and the pc was on, this mad my pc freeze up a bit and then my pc was to normal so i then shut down the pc, When I shutdowned the xbox 360 i took out the original 360 game out and left the drive open, then powerd cycle the 360 twice, and now it wont read any media what so ever just says open tray, now i tried movies, original xbox 360 games, and burnt games, and all the ones that i have tried worked on my modded samsung ms25 drive. This is a friends xbox so hopefully its fixable

WOW im an idiot lol, the only reason why it didnt work was cause i forgot to hook up the sata cable from the drive to the 360 back up, which would explain why it took forever for the 360 to boot up. Thnks anyways, for whom looked at this post might was well delete it lol, but hey double check your work when finished lol

i dont no why i thought of the cable being unplugged but i did for some weird reason, well at least it was the cable right lol
LOL nearly as good as the time a friend of mine decided to flash someones console at work for a price , he did the same forgot to plug the sata back in and panicing like a tit !He gave me the console to fix at what ever it cost !
He said he would never touch one again after that till i gave him the bill of a few pints and told him what he forgot to do lol the colour came back to his cheeks after that :roll:

lol new to this myself done a 78fk drive yesterday and done the same thing was highly stressed for about 3mins till i realised Duh!!! Ur rt Jenkosz some ppl r to keen.. All i can say to anyone with probs out there is read the tuts well, ive used text,s MS25 / MS28 / 78FK / tut,s so far, allso replaceing laser tut all to complete success. This site rocks

Big thanks guys for all ur hard work.....the thing is that nobody want to ruin an xbox after paying so much money for 1. but at the end of it all its sooo simple. i always knew that the 360 would be hackable. anything with a lead hooking it up to a pc u know its waithing to happen. once you do this anthing can be hacked, that goes for everthing (mobile phones). I think the next thing to be hacked is a tv. mark my words.

oh the hassle. i have created a slax cd and booted it gets through no problem and is clearly in mode B.
when i restart windows i checked divce manger to make sure the drive was detected and it is! so i inserted fifa 07 to do my raw dump. it spins it up i can hear it but when i look at the drive it says its empty. when i go to xbm it says please inster disk and wait 10-20 secs and thats as far as it gets it wont even read audio cds . any ideas people any 1 having the same trouble
