HITACHI 79 Hitachi 79 detected but wont show up in vendor or go mode b

sorry to post I looked through pages and pages and even googled this and I can't figure out whats wrong.
Im using the usb pro v2. Like it says in the title it shows up on my computer on the drive drop box on the bottom when i try mode b and when i scan for it but it wont show in the port properties/vendor section. I've tried it on two different computers on vista 32 and one win 7 64. I have heard it might work on windows xp but don't have a comp to try it on. I have also tried slax on both computers and it wont go mode b, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You tried the unlock audio cd?

http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/iriez/79_Unlock.rar Download and burn CD image (image.bin) using imgburn.

JF has a button for that, but basically just chuck it in the tray while on the hitachi page in JF.

yup have it already to go just tells me it failed prob cause its not in mode b, everything in that section wont seem to work prob cause it wont show up in port properties. i actually just finished fully downgrading to xp 32 bit and still nothing. ive been at this thing all week its driving me crazy!!!

also, what i wrote was a little confusing it will show up on my computer, and it will also show in jf under drive with the drop box. when i scan it says hitachi found but it wont show in "port properties/vendor" section above the mode b and 79 unlock. i dont know if im just doing mode b wrong.

Your operating system has nothing to do with your problem.

The other obvious requirement on a hitachi is that the laser be able to read the disc before it is able to go mode b.

Has it been flashed before?, If so pay attention to page 56, If not then open the JFtut1.4.4 and goto page 53 and read through page 56, Then goto page 66 for 79 unlock.

incorrect, modeb is a portio command over sata
you can modeb a hitachi logic board without
anything attached other than sata and power,
you NEED working laser for unlock79 audio disc
NOT modeb.
