HITACHI 79 Hitachi 79, drive rev undetermined??

Trying to flash hitachi 79,
have done the cd unlock and mode b
get this when trying to dump drive

Scanning for hardware changes
New CD/DVD detected.
Found drive A: - Removable.
Found drive C: - Hard Drive.
Found drive D: - CD/DVD. <--- Hitachi found
Found drive H: - CD/DVD.
Found drive I: - CD/DVD.
Dumping f/w of Hitachi 0078/0079 by Ram Upload Method via WIN32 API
................................
Drive rev undetermined, Aborting!

any ideas?

any ideas?

Switch from Win32 API to Portio in JF. I have to do this everytime I get a Hitachi in the shop. Should work like a charm after. If not please reply.

Also, you may have to flash more than once to get success. That is normal. Some Hitachis take me 1-2 times to get a success when flashing iXtreme. If it comes back fail just press flash with iXtreme again.

What version of JF are you using?

i was using v0.1.84 beta, as i had earlier problems to get to this point, and using that version was a advised fix.
now those problems are fixed i just tried the latest 0.1.90 beta, and we have the same issue with the drive rev undetirmined and the use port io being blocked out.

How are you powering the drive?

Can you post the full JF log?
