hitachi drive wont go into mode b

ive been trying to get my hitachi 47 drive into mode b but wont work. after i use slax do i do i have to login and then shutdown when the linux thing prompts to login or do i have to do something else?

ok i tried using the newer version of slax but when it gets to the bit where its detecting usbs it crashes and says that it "this error should never happen please press alt+ctrl+del to reboot" what am i doing wrong

Follow the tuts, all the info is in there.
You should be looking for the line (as shown in the tut) that says "mode b - thanks to kev" and then you'll know its done, you do not need to log in, at the end of it check your xbox for signs of mode b then reboot the pc into windows and away you go!

i have followed the tuts but even trying the 1k ohm resistor wont work
