No, this drive cannot be flashed with software. It must have the tsop desoldered and externally programmed, then resoldered.

how close is maximus to releasing the toolbox 3.1, its been soooooooooooooooooo long now im sure it wouldve hacked it by now, it shouldnt be that hard to get it to read and write

its hard to get the firmware reead cause this dive cant be put into mode b. And those firmware hackers do have lives, its no like they just sit around all day and just work on the firmware hack for everyone.

The issue with this firmware is essentially a one bit protection scheme. It is preventing us from reading and writing the firmware and may not even be possible with software. c4eva stated he thought we may need a small piece of hardware to bypass this to be able to flash with software. As i stated, this drive and firmware have been available for quite some time and no real headway has been made from what i have heard/read.

Dont simply state that it shouldnt be that hard if you do not know what is involved with the process.
