Hitachi Rom Ver 0047DJ , Having problems setting in mode B

well this is what I'm doing.

1.I burn the slax v2.0.iso to a cd-r with nero.

2. I go to bios and make the boot sequence , cdrom first, HDD second, then removable third.

3. both PC and Xbox 360 are connected via a Sata cable to my Sata card www.svp.co.uk

4. both Pc and the Xbox 360 are turned off.

5. I turn the Pc on, but leave the xbox 360 off.

6. the Slax v2.0 boots from the cdrom

7. I turn the xbox 360 on.

8. the slax v2.0 goes to a black screen and it freezes.

9. I tried to turn the xbox 360 on and the Pc on at the same time, and when the dos is loading and detecting the IDE drives. it says if I want to go to the Sata Raid bios, to press Ctrl+a and it does not do anything else.

it detects the Hitachi drive as the Secondary Master, cause I see it, when detecting, but it does not go any further.

Please let me know exactly what I'm doing wrong, what should I do. any other way I could set my Hitachi into mode B, I read all tutorials, and I'm still stuck.

i think its to do with the timing of turning on the 360 when slax is loading up. the best time to turn it on is when the first green line of slax is just about to finish. i had similar problems when i first flashed my 360. i think that there is a tut in the user submitted section by napoleon

Here's a couple of points to consider.

1. Where in the advert for the SATA card does it mention a VIA chipset?
2. Try using SLAX 2.1.
3. Turn PC and Xbox on at the same time. Press the eject button on the Xbox when it says "Spinning up disks".
4. Allow the SLAX disk to finish.
5. Reboot PC to windows, do not switch the Xbox off.

it is not a via chipset on the Sata card.

But I think this Sata card is ok with the hitachi v0047DJ, because when I turn the PC and the Xbox360 at the same time it does show the Hitachi drive in the Secondary Master. but then it stops going to the Slax.

so thats why I only can turn the xbox 360 after the Ide detection is done.

where can I find slax 2.1, here in the downloads they only have p_slax2.0_alpha1.iso or live-cd.iso.

I use the p_slax2.0_alpha1.iso because the compatibility is greater with the sata cards..


I will try again to see if it works.

I had a problem getting in to mode b when I had a disc in the drive.

Alright,

I did it get the Hitachi 47DJ into mode B.

with the Slax 2.1

the trick is to turn the xbox 360, when the Slax 2.1 is loading the first line of command and is almost finish.

ok so I got it into mode be and then I followed the tutorial to flash it, and it says everything that the tutorial said it would.

Now I have on a Sony DVD+R DL

and I burned on the IMGBURN

Medal of Honor Airbourne

I have a LG super multi drive DVD burner with DL capability of recording.

anyways I burn the game and it says successfull at 2.4X

so I put the backup game in the hitachi

and says Unreadable Disk


Now How exactly can I check if the Xbox 360 is in fact Flashed with the hacket firmware.

I just made 1 backup, and does not work.

so can someone tell me if its the disks

thats what my guess is the Sony disks

but the disks are Sony so I guess they are reliable, but maybe I can only do it on Verbatim, I have no idea.
