are you using a VIA 6421 PCI card?
if not, JF won't find VIA ports

if you are using onboard SATA, there are a couple things that can help detection
1. put the xbox drive in SATA 0 on your computer motherboard (or SATA 1 if you don't have a SATA 0)
2. disable RAID and AHCI in your BIOS

portio only works for hitachis when you use a VIA card with driver removed (as described in the tutorial)

however, win api is a much better way to flash hitachis

make sure you have the "include non-IDE ports" checked
