RGH Hmm Christmas Lights got it this way. (Boots Xell)

This is a fun and easy one. Since I never had to use a donor nand, I have no clue.

Board as stock booted to christmas lights.

Read nand build ecc, booted into xell.

Got CPU key.

CPU key does nto match the nand installed.

So, since I have no patch version except to say I know this is not on the newer dash, has to be 9199 or below. How should I go about building a freeboot for this?

Should I just use a donor nand and change the cpu key with 360 Flash dump tool?

Since the kv and config dont match what its supposed to be and the 6BL and 7BL patches dont match, I am at a loss.

For JTAG I would just read the raw kv and raw config from a working nand. But this has me stumpped. Any clues out there?

So I am finding these tutorials on using Bincrypt. I am following them to the "T"

If anyone can build me a rawkv or kvdec or even kvenc by using a cpu key you can have this cpu key. It is not banned as far as I know. PM me for the key. Using an unbanned here in the open would not do anyone any good huh? :)

Heck even a FREEBoot image to flash would work.

In case anyone is watching this thread...

I took a dec kv from another nand
used kvmodder to change the dvd key and saved file
used BinCrypt to change cpu key to the one for the console.
used best pig to make a new freeboot image from the donor
now trying to boot.

EDIT: Booting to Xell Reloaded via Eject button. Will not boot into dash. Can get all fuses ect and dvd key is all 0 as I set it, cpu key is the same as the freeBOOT image I made

Green light is flashing, only twice. All is set up correctly and I can still go to xell at will, but no dash.

Any help is appreciated.

Here's what I did:

I opened the nand in 360 Flash Tool v0.97 and looked in the advanced view of KV and opened the tree on the left and there you can see the codes, when I looked the HEX for "Manufacture Mode" I saw ff on 8, this means it's in manufacture mode.

(1) So now open it up in Key Vault Modder v1h and clicked on "Extract KV from Nand" and saved the KV as decrypted.
(2) Now opened that file in Hex Editor and change it to "00" on line 8 and saved it.
(3) Then I open that up in Key Vault Modder v1h and clicked on "encrypt the KV and insert in Nand", Now my original is out of "manufacture Mode".

I then used that nand to build my image with 360 Multi Builder 0.3 put on flash drive and booted to Xell and Xell flashed it, booted it up and in about 5 second I had a 360 dash.

So use your original nand and do what I did above, it was easy!

I am trying now. if this dont work, I might fire up the jigsaw lol

EDIT: My nand was not in manufacture mode, so all I needed to do was inject a new kv into the original nand.

Flashing now....

And make sure your fuseset on line 7 match your LDV in your KV, count the # of "f" on that line, they have to match

Yes it WAS staying as a RGH.

Just like the other 3 the coolrunner just stopped working. This time I did nothing, I was playing, the screen went black and I reset the box, now no green flashing light on coolrunner. Ugh.

Check over ALL your wiring. Coolrunners don't stop working. I've gone through over 30 of them without any problems. The chances of you having 4 faulty ones is almost impossible.

They have all done this the same way? Can you send close up pictures of this install, if you had 4 do the same thing then you want to check everything, PSU, wall out that you are using, spike protection if you using one, it's like Martin said, this would be highly unlikely the CR with 4 in a row, it's something that is happening to them the same way.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner MickeyC, I took a few days off to cool down as I was getting frustrated. I would love to take pics for you, but all I have is my phone and dont know where my usb cable is. I would BT it to my PC but the 1000w PSU blew out on it the other day.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe the RGH does not handle RROD like a normal console would and maybe these systems that did this RROD? Highly unlikely all of them would but the probability of some and the others having a bad coolrunner is feasable. That would mean I have one horrible stroke of bad luck though.

I am tossing around buying a new slim (its either that or like 5 RROD to fix). I am betting Slims have a much higher success rate and from the pics I have seen have more room in the case for airflow and "extras".

any input?

I'm glad you took a break, I had visions of the jigsaw getting rolled out...
It's really strange that you had this happen, I have 4 consoles here I fixed RROD on and installed CR on 3 of them and they work just fine, I test them by running for 24 hours and no problems at all.
As for a Slim you should read some of the treads here to get a idea of what you might be up against, they have their own problems. I've also been hearing that the new Slims can't be glitched as they don't have a hana/ana chip
