Hi there,

I have been trying to launch the homebrew menu by holding R and starting a game or app, I have hbmenu.nro in the root directory. The game or app just launches as it normally would.

SX OS Pro / 2.5 BETA
Switch firmware 6.1.0

The only way I can get direct to the hbmenu is to hold R over the album, but this doesn't provide the same functionality as an NSP/takeover would as any crashes will crash the whole system. I'm also not sure if it allows you to make use of the whole range of memory.

Am I doing anything wrong? Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks for your help!

I am on 2.4.1 OFW 5.1 and it works as expected. I do not even have the hbmenu.nro anymore since it is part of the SX OS now. I am going to update to 2.5 today and I can try again.

EDIT: I just updated to SX2.5 Beta and am still able to launch the HB Menu while holding R and launching an game. You can hold the R button before even clicking the game icon. If that doesn't work, I would say to remove the hbmenu.nro and try again or possible re-copy your boot.dat file to your SD card. Maybe something got messed up when it was copied. Unless it is an issue with FW 6.1.

Hey there,

Thanks for your help, I tried again the other day and it worked. I'm not sure whether I was just not holding it down long enough, or was impatient with the nintendo logo or what, but it's working now. Thanks again!
