Ok... I bought 2.6 - hosed both banks (by basically trying to get it working...) - realised what I did and bought another chip (which is fine and dandy and sitting in my son's xbox 1.0 with a 200Gb drive thank-you-very-much
)
However... When I installed the replacement chip - I hosed that as well and then realised that I could boot Evox from a DVD and reload the firmware onto the chip.
Roll forward a few months....
My Daughters bf has bought a new xbox (1.6), and I have installed previously hosed chip thinking - n.p., I'll boot from the evox disc... nope - doesnt recognise the disk!, plus... I can switch the mod chip on as it power cycles 3 times and then does the red/green led thing...
question is:-
How do I get the firmware onto my 2.6 modchip when I can't switch it on, and the xbox won't boot from an evox DVD ????
