I have (2) 2.6 chips I think are bad that I would like to hotswap...I have a working 2.6 on a 1.6 box...if I understand the procedure correctly, I basically boot up with the good chip enabled...questions:
1. do I need to run a wire from the d0 to ground, or do I boot up with the d0/hdd/lan wire connected to the chip?
2. Is hot swapping even a good idea on the 1.6 box since it has the separate 5v wire?
Before I remove the bootable chip, I'm to disable the chip and have the flash protect on. Once the chip is removed I put on the corrupt 2.6, connect the 5v lead, and if I don't ground the d0, do I need to re-connect the d0/lan/hdd connector...thanks for any help, have searched but couldn't find the specific answer to these questions...
