Im trying to backup a copy of NHL07. Ive flashed my drive which was easy and tested it out. When Im doing the hotswap I tried using Saving Private Ryan and Lord of the Rings: TT. I changed the layout to say CDD and DDD. I get through everything ok until its time to dump. The drive spins ok but it makes a clicking noise every 1 or 2 seconds. I also keep on getting "Error @ 0 : Data error (cyclic redundancy check)." What the hell? This is on my family PC and I dont use this drive to burn the games I use my laptop. The DVD drive isnt DL on the PC is that the problem?

Well lets start at the begining.

When you put in the DVD, and then swap discs do you press the eject button or do you open the drive and swap the discs?

or get an external HDD enclosure, it is essentially a USB 2.0 to IDE adapter, it allows you to connect a DVD drive to USB without have your desktop computer open, or if your using a laptop like me it is your only choice, but either way I found it to be a great solution.

Also make sure you follow the tutorials very carefully as far as what steps and in which order, every detail is crucial.

Paperclip works with very few drives. Always best to open it up and do a real swap.

Got it to work finally. Turns out that the paper clip trick was the whole problem. Other than a few errors during the copy process it worked. I solved the errors by the way. Keep those fingers crossed that i dont make coasters.

Hey just so you know if at any point during the "dump" you get a cyclic redundancy error, the .iso image is useless. Don't burn the .iso if it was created with errors in WXripper, the disc wont work.
