Hi,

I purchased a chip off of someone who flashed it with the wrong bios. Now, I have a 1.4, 1.6, a working X3CE, 2 working 2.6CEs, BUT I CAN'T HOTSWAP!

I've followed tutorials and whatnot, but still no luck. When I boot flashbios with my 1.6 and 2.6CE, then switch the chip and choose to flash, the Xbox just turns off.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

I have never hotswap on a 1.6 xbox and I suppose the 5v wire would be important. I suggest to hotswap on a non-1.6 xbox (just because I have experience with it). This is my suggestion:

FTP the bios into your hd on your xbox. Boot the xbox up with a good chip to flashbios. Carefully take out the good chip (for your information, you can use X3 to hotswap 2.6 and vis versa) and place in the bad 2.6ce. Then proceed with your flash. You don't need any wire attached to the bad 2.6ce except for the wire to the switch with the switch itself attached to it ( I know X3 does not need any wire attached to hotswap and not certain with x2.6. I'm just being careful so I attach the switch to the x2.6)

come to think of it, the x2.6 programmer does not need the chip to have the switch attached so I suppose you don't need the wire to the switch attached neither.
