How can I setup multiple dashboards or BIOS's?

Hello all! I just got my XBox modded to the X3 and am very excited to get my hands dirty with all of its features.

I've done a search and came across two posts that could've helped if there was a little more detailed information but I'm still lost: (http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=24795&highlight=multiple and http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=25743)

How can I setup multiple dashboards, like the X3 is supposed to do? I have the latest dashboards for evox (already installed), avalaunch and the unleashx. I've gone into the evox config screen (holding the white button while loading into the modded dashboard) and then into the config live menu. But that's where I get lost and it's not so "apparent"?

The different banks and the different names that I can give them, just doesn't make sense to me. I do know that the 2nd bank switch is the only dip switch that is turned on that means I have "1024, 1024".. But I'm not sure what to do?

Secondly, my BIOS shows up as "UNKNOWN" (great!), how can I find out? I have the latest X3 BIOS and the Cromwell bios and was hoping that I could load them both up separately (all the dashboards on the X3 BIOS and then, maybe and eventually, Linux on the Cromwell).

I would really appreciate anyone's input or help on this.

Thanks!

I have the X3 bios build 1959 and mine comes up as unknown also. The only thing that I can think of is that the system is looking for either a 256k or 512k bios and the X3 is 1024k so it isnt reading it correctly. but of course I may be wrong.

having multiple dashboards is an X3 feature...so shouldn't someone know how to do it without having to install older BIOS versions?

Nobody knows how to install multiple dashboards or BIOS' on the Xecuter3?

Its real easy... Basically you just install all the dashboards you want... The X3 has a list inside (its in Live) that is allready filled with the popular names so it should work right out of the box.. You can play around with the priorities in the list ofcourse..

Basically that list is nothing more then a list of all dashboard.xbe's ..

Check out the turorials though.. This one is not difficult to find..

if you know of a tutuorial, PLEASE, let me know!!! The closest I've come to one is this:

"Question: Can I boot different dashboards besides the ones in Config Live?
Answer: You sure can. In the BIOS configuration you can edit the names of the dashboard XBEs as well as the priority. The menu selections should be pretty apparent. " - http://www.matrixmodchip.com/xecute...nt_dashboards_besides_the_ones_in_Config_Live
ya, thanks, that was helpful! lol.

Also, I don't see a list of dashboard's in Live and I didn't notice anything to suggest a priority.

Could it be because my BIOS is recognized as an "unknown"? Helmonder, what does your BIOS show up as? And let me know if you find this tutorial? (it should help all us noobs!)

my bios was called unknown untill i went into the bios settings in config live and named the first 4 banks 'X3 1959'. now on the XLCD it says the right bios.

No problem.... I myself fried my box when installing X3 after not noticing for several times that I did a good job at the intial go... Reason ? I did not understand that what was appearing on my screen after the x3 install was a menu selection giving me the option of flashing the bios... :-(

But ok... back to your question...

Startup your box - make sure it starts up with config live (you do that by holding the white button while it loads, if you have a wireless controller then it will not work first time, just reset the box after it has started up by pressing both triggers, BACK and START together on your controller.. Then press and hold WHITE while booting up...

Check if you are in config live.. You should have a menu with a green wireframe moving graphic in the back and a menu with X3 CONFIG LIVE as first line.

Gottit ? If not, go back to the beginning.

Now make sure the blue bar is on the X3 CONFIG LIVE option
Press GREEN (A)

Now make sure that the blue bar is on the CUSTOMIZE X3 BIOS option
Press GREEN (A)

Now make sure that the blue bar is on the DASHBOARD BOOT PRIORITY option
Press GREEN (A)

This shows you the names the X3 recognizes for loading dashboards, you can move them around by selecting one with GREEN (A) and using UP/DOWN

You can have 5 dashboard filenames, should you want one that is not preconfigured (and do not want this, 99% are using either AVALAUNCH or EVOX (and AVALAUNCH looks much better), then you can change the names by going back one step in the menu (by pressing RED (B), making sure the blue bar is on DASHBOARD FILENAMES and pressing GREEN (A).

Thats it.... all works like a charm... !

Hellmonder.... THANK YOU VERY MUCH. That's EXACTLY what I was looking for. A simple step-by-step instruction. I just never went in deep enough into the live config.

I now have avalaunch (as my primary) and then unleashx and evox installed.

As for the different bios banks, since I already have the X3 BIOS in there(with no name associated to it and hopefully in the same banks as yours) I will try to figure out on my own how to get the Cromwell bios on there separately.

Thanks again... I hope your post helps other noobs like myself.
