How come X3 BIOS' only work on X3 modchips?

Well,
I heard that the bios' (X3) are modchip specific (aka require X3 modchip). My question is why? Most Xbox bios' out there are not modchip specific, why is yours? I also heard that if you flash a X3 bios on any modchip other then an X3 modchip it would f**k your Xbox up. Why would you make your bios preparatory to X3 modchips?

I think it's because the X3 is the MOST advanced chip available and has many features that NO ONE else has. So if you don't like that.. Tough.... Buy a X3.
you will not regret it.

It's really simple. Many of the features of the X3 bios are only possible because of specialized code/hardware on the X3. The hardware makes everything possible, and the software (bios) has to be specialized to utilize it.

Is my LiteOn 74850C dead?

I flashed my Lite-On 74850C back in June. Every older game that I tried played great. Until recently some of the newer games didn't work so I tried re-flashing my Liteon with the new IXtreme LT. I think I did something really wrong. Now when I connect my drive to my 360 I get the 3 light RROD. If I disconnect the drive; I no longer the RROD. No when I connect it to my XECUTER CK3 Lite it no longer lights up when the drive is connected.
I have an old XBOX 360 in my closet that had the RROD that had a Hitachi GDR-3120L. This drive was also flashed a long time ago but I don't have any files from it.

Is there any way to take my old drive and put it in my new 360 and get it flashed? If my Liteon is dead????

your lite-on is not dead

you need to re-erase and write your firmware to it

When I try to run the l-o-eras.exe FE00 command all I get is status FFFF I have tried running the command 10 times then powering off then on and still status FFFF

I do not get any light at all on my excuter at all. As soon as I disconnect the power from the drive; the blue light comes on.

Any ideas? I'm really stumped !! Thanks again for the help!

hook the drive upto jungleflasher then send intro device with the drive powered down then wait till you see dots on the screen then power on the drive
you should now get a status 0x72 now the drive can be flashed

No, I don't remember connecting the drive backwards. I went through the flashing routine and everything seemed to work. Then I connected the drive to the 360 and got the 3 RROD. If I disconnect the drive from the 360; the 360 boots up with just the green lights.

I will try sending the intro device with the drive powered down.

Its strange how I don't get a light on the xecuter when the drive is connected to it.

follow this tut exzactly what it says to do mine was locked and this fixed it!!

I tried to resend the vendor intro but I got Four lines of .......................... then Device Intro failed!

no i use ck3 pro when i hook the ck3 pro to the drive i got the green light to pull my key

If my drive is bricked/fried; what is the process of replacing the drive? What is the best to replace it with?

Currently; when my LiteOn drive is connected I get the 3 RROD. If I disconnect the drive; the 360 boots up like normal to the dashboard.

if you didnt plug the power lead in the wrong way then the drive is not dead follow the steps i told you above it will work if done correctly
