your mom's
sup,

i've had my X3 for a while now and everything works just great.

well except i was never able to install the X3 bios...currently running x2.4981 with no problems.

here's my question...i'm pretty sure just about every (possible) bank has the x2 bios on it and was wondering how do i delete them.

also i used XBTool to edit the x2 bios changing the boot partition and when I tried to edit x3.1957 it said 'Unsupported Kernel'.

thanks in advance.

Try flashing Bank 1 1MB of your chip with X3 1959. If you get it to boot with it, then you use the X3 Live Config to change boot partitions etc.

Got stuck? Any more information?

Boot from the Backup BIOS and set all DIPs to off. Flash a 1MB X3 1959 - it shouldn't get 'stuck'.

BenQ, Drive Not Detected In JungleFlasher

Hello,
Whenever I open jungleflasher it is unable to detect the drive.
Anyone have any idea why? Here's some more info about what I have.

Windows XP 32bit
BenQ VAD6038
JungleFlasher 1.62
Connected to a VIA onboard SATA port.
Port1O23 is installed and visiable in the device manager.
I have checked all the ports listed in JunglerFlasher.

Make sure that your tray is half way open and then make sure that the right port is selected and then refresh the port when the drive is powered on and hopefully it should detect it. If it doesn't then try power cycling the drive until its detected.

Hope this helps :)

I did have it halfway open.

By power cycle do you just mean keep turning it off and on?

also make sure if using onboard sata port use the primary port which your hdd is using
also try ejecting the drive a couple of times when booting windows this will help the drive be detected

ok, i switched the hdd and the dvd drive ports, i saw the BenQ drive in the bios so i know the computer sees it. i have the drive half-open, run jungleflasher and it still doesn't see it in either of the two ports.

Hmmmm well you must be doing something wrong then.

Is the drive stock or already been flashed before???

Use the new Jungleflasher (1.73) as well as with the new tutorial. :)

Yes the drive is stock. it has never been flashed before.

i've tried a couple different versions of jungle flasher and im following the pdf guide along with a video tutorial.

i just switched to a different computer running vista 32 bit.
but instead of VIA, it says it has Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller.
would this still work?
its a nvidia chipset
