How do I make backup copies of my xbox games... That Work!

I am currently using 'dvd2xbox' software on my xbox and craxtion 4.0 on my computer. I have the x3 installed with the evolutionx dash. I have wasted three dvd's already. Please if anyone has done this before or knows how to get it to work properly please let me know. So far when I make backup copies, the xbox will not recognize them. It just says that there is no disc in the drive. I have used 'dvd2xbox' to rip the games to my hard drive (and they play from the hard drive) then I send the data on the xbox hard drive to my computer through ftp. I use craxtion to make an xiso file from that data, burn my dvd and I get SHMOTZ. Please if anyone knows anything about doing this, or have been successful with it, please help me.

first of all.. dvd2xbox is not needed in this process. you could just ftp to your xbox and transfer directly from the DVD in the xbox to your PC (but of couse this shouldn't be relevant to your problem).


as far as making a working backup of a game....

What type & brand of blank media are you using?
DVD-R is recommended since it is the most compatible

What is the DVD drive in your XBOX?
different version of the xbox have differnt DVD drives with different compatibilities (Thompson, Philips, Samsung)

I have a Thompson DVD Drive and I am using MAXELL DVD+R. These discs should work because the XBOX will recognize them if they have backed up DVD Movies on them. I'm actually watching one right now. Would it matter if the discs were DVD-R or DVD+R if it was for a game? I don't know. Like I said, they work fine for movies, but the xbox games are not recognized.
