With Dash Launch. Google it ;)

Correction: mwn is correct, Freeboot is rf and dosn't need dashlaunch, unlike XBR :p
-Never tested myself

I would have thought Freeboot is region free!!! Have you actually tested it? In addition, like mentioned above. I never had issues probably cause never tried to use other region games 'Yet'.

So what your saying if i am freebooting into the latest dash then its already done, and now to mention it, ive never tried, probally because i just assumed it would not work.

Oh and i just remembered why i thought this, i saw a video with a chap running a cygnos, he switch to the cygnos nand witch apparently had a NTSC dash on it, and the box was set to PAL

No, you dont have to do anything. Freeboot already have the patches installed, no need to do it with dash launch.

Excellent, i do have dashlaunch installed on my cygnos for booting to FSD, but its hit and miss and refuses to work most of the time, so i just load it manually.

Well that was easy lol, ok im gona hijack my own thread with another question, this one has not been solved by anybody so far...

I have the Entire up to date TU collection on my 360 HDD`s, when i boot a game the game picks of the updates from the list, ie when playing HALO3 it displays v1.2 so i know its working.

Why oh why!? can i not copy these to a usb stick, ie formatted by the xbox, normally i just ftp the updates to the hdd:/cache folder and all good, but i cannot for the life of me get them to copy to the usb stick, after about 14 files it just freezes, ive also tried about 5 different programes, xstaf, usbcommander ect, all just lock.

Any ideas?

Reson i am wanting to do this is have the entire collection of updates on my usb stck, with my saves and profiles, so when i swap machines, for whatever reson, its all with me.

roden just put your TUs on a usb stick make sure there is enough room then plug it into your Jtag and go to FreeStyle Dash v2.0 RC1.3 and use Freestyle File Manager it has two sides one is Source so you find Usb0 and select your TUs then at the other side you will see Destination select Hdd1 /Cache and copy.

No the problem is getting them on the usb stick, i have no problem copying them to hdd, they are all on the hdd already, and i have already tried what you are suggesting, but in reverse, copying them from the hdd to usb, and it fails.

Ah when you say you copied 1, yes i can copy 1 fine, but when i try to copy the collection, and i mean them all, bout 1.4gb, it always fails on about file 14 or somthing like that.

So i am wondering if there is a limit on the usb, but not the hdd?.

And yes i have tried 3 different memsticks.

Try copying a batch of them over and see what happens....

Ok just to clarify, i am putting them into the correct place.... /USBMU0/Cache

USB = FAT32 = file size no greater then 4GB, or the application will fail so its not that it might be just an overload that cannot be handled on the Jtag you say it crashes at 14 so try transferring 12 or 13 at a time or its back to FTP and just do it that way bro FTP is fast transfer to your Jtag just as fast as USB if not faster depends on your connection..

Ok well this is weird, i just reformatted my 8gb key with the xbox, and it is now transfering the entire collection over by ftp, yet i tried this way lots of times before and it would not work.

WTF!

Only thing different is a new version of FSD, WEIRD!

Now will these TU`s stay, because i have noticed that after a while the dir shrinks as though its removing them, for instance lets say i load halo 3, it picks of the 1.2 update, will the original file stay in the cache dir, or does it literally use it and delete it?

Otherwise my problem has vanished....

Ya but what i meant is when its selected, it only picks it and copys it to $titleupdate on the root of the drive, it does not actually delete files from the cache folder right?
