How do I permanently disable emunand?

I tried creating an emunand all day using sxos for specific reasons but I settled for atmosphere emunand since I could not get this to work. Now that I'm finally done getting things back to normal, I cant disable emunand for sxos. Basically now everytime I reboot to sxos from atmosphere, I have to get up and hold the volume button in order to get to the menu and disable emunand. I'm curious, why does it keep reverting back to enabled? Even though I knew it wouldn't work, I tried clicking on the 3 options to delete emunand. Interestingly upon deleting the license.dat file, emunand is then disabled when launching sxos payload. I assume that is because emunand support is not included unless purchased. I'm stumped and its late at night. Not the end of the world, but I've made my life slightly more difficult now that I can't switch payloads with ease while playing on the TV. I'm on 8.1 SXOS 2.8. I have an 8.1 backup that I made today but It was after messing with emunand. I also have 6.0 backup and fuses in check, but I don't wanna mess up anything. And I honestly don't wanna format anything. No quick fix for this?

EDIT: I restored my nand from 8.1.0 to 5.1.0. The problem still persists. I'm assuming its tied to the license then and I'm not paying again just to disable emunand. I've also redownloaded the boot.dat. I'm tired so I may be incorrect but this has to be the only explanation.
EDIT2: Managed to disable it on 5.1.0 using SXOS v2.5.2. At this point I'm not sure if restoring the nand was even necessary. I went into the boot menu and deleted emunand off microsd even though I've formatted microsd and there was never emunand in the first place. Perhaps it was just the sxos version that properly deleted stuff which still doesn't make sense because of the nand restore. I'll come back and add more later because now I'm restoring back to 8.1.0 to see if I can replicate fixing this issue.
