i get to the evoX dashboard, put in a DVD movie (riddick) and when i click load disk, it goes to the evoX loading screen, then back to the dashboard, whats wrong?
you didnt edit your ini correctly for evox. get either dvdx2 (i think its called) to use the dongle free dvd player or get XBMC to play movies from hdd and from disc.
Then, place the folder with all the files in it just the way they are onto your xbox.
It doesn't matter where you put it because the next thing your going to do is go into your evox.ini file and change where it says default dvd player from xboxdash.xbe to where you placed the dvdx2 folder.
For example if you placed the folder on the C drive then you would put:
C:/dvdx2/default.xbe
Or if you placed it in the APPS folder on F then:
F:/apps/dvdx2/default.xbe
In short your pointing to the default.xbe of the dvd program.
Installing anything on the xbox is pretty much always the same. there is no System, Windows directories or cookies to worry about. Everything is stored in the folders containing the program.
Likewise, if you ever want to delete anything off the xbox all you have to do is delete the folder containing the program you want to remove.

actually, there's something about riddick - It has like an xbox game built in or something - I had to use my original m$ dash to play it.
It comes up with an option to either Load Demo Game or Load Movie - if you click movie, it tends to throw you back to your modded dash (or at least it did with dash2gam). I didn't feel like figuring it out, so I just disabled my chip, and it worked fine.
Although I did spend the extra cash on a DVD player 'kit', so it wasn't a problem for me.
