To be fare he said it is a TX LPT cable which i have one but have never actually opened the bag it is in as have never used it. As bryce said just connect up with the power cable supplied then program via Jrunner..

As Utmad said. You need power to the CR first. J-Runner will progam it just fine. I'm a bit of old school and sometimes still use Lab tools.

You can power the CR using the small cable by connecting it to a CK3.
Alternatively, purchase a JRP V2 (this allows you to program a CR over USB).

What small cable? Did it come with cr3 lite?

using the v1 i get device not detected sort of error
have found my brain and the small cable i do beleive haha

still no led (red) on cr3 ummmm

Lappy is to left (out of shot) JRP v1 cable conected to CR3,
disconected when using lpt
360usbpro v2 powered by molex psu, conected to CR3 by
small wire conecter,(not conected when using JRP)
lpt cable end in front of fan conects to pc out of shot to right.
both lappy and pc running win 7 (lappy home prem, pc ultimate)

You are using a JRP so why is the CR being powered externally?
The cable you get with the JRP has a wire for VCC - this will give the chip 3.3V when it is connected to the JRP.
seeing as the cr3 lite have been discontinued for a while now , im gonna guess its a fake. please post picture of cr3
no fake here, my serial is registerd and good, so i no it's not fake, just as all my tx products are real
