newbie here so forgive me.

Searched on forums but to no avail.

i did a mistake and followed a guide which flash both banks with the evox bios, i am having problems with the bios auto loading avalaunch, i think i made the mistake of setting the 1st boot partition to avadash.xbe and not the name of the xbe file i have which is "avalaunch.xbe"

I need to reflash a new bios which has the boot partiction set to load avalaunch and not avadash.

So, how do reflash the bios so it laods evox to the bank1 and then flashbios v301 to bank 2.

any ideas???

Why use the EvoX BIOS? Now that the X2 5xxx series is out and has Xbox 1.6 compatibility I don't see any reason not to use it. And it is the X2 BIOS forum that you've posted in, not a X2 hardware forum.

Assuming you are still booting something other than MS dash on your box, pick up and install FlashX on your box. Then flash the correct BIOS through FlashX, selecting the proper banks. You can put 5035 on bank 1 (logical banks 1&2) and FlashBIOS 3.01 on bank 2 (logical banks 3&4). You can even put the EvoX BIOS on if you so desire...

If you're stuck where you can only boot the MS dash of the HDD, then you're going to need to find/create a bootable disc so you can flash or at least access your HDD.

thanks for the info, I posted this in the x2 bios section as i want to reflash back to the x2 bios, so it seemed logical to pst here. The reason for flashing the x2 chip with the evox bios was due to following newbie guides here in this forum, so you can see why im getting confused.

Just so im geting this right, i can put the flashx on to disc and install as a dashboard, here i can then reinstall the old x301 to banks 2, and then flash bank 1 with x2 5035, i have not heard of this 5035 so it will take time to track down,
hopefully i can get it right 2nd time around, thanks

You would want to install FlashX as an app, but for repair reasons it can be used in place of a dash on a bootable disc. Make sure you include the BIOS files you want in a \BIOS folder on the disc. Once you're back up and running I would keep it as one of the apps on your HDD.

5035 is the latest X2 BIOS, now being referred to as X2CL (Config Live) because the dash loading, colors, flubber settings, etc., etc. are controlled in an ini file rather than being tweaked in the BIOS itself. I.e., you don't need to reflash your BIOS to change your boot colors, it's all controlled in the ini.
