How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????

I hope someone who know will help me here. I want to know how to rip games using 0800 dump method.

Here is my setup, please tell me if this will work. I have a spare Ben-Q drive with iXtreme 1.51 firmware on it.

1. Do I need to reflash this drive with 1.6 firmware in order to use 0800 dump? Is this the best firmware to use if I am going to be flashing it?
2. This DVD drive is coming from a dead xbox360. Can I remove it from the xbox and just use the BenQ dvd drive by itself? Hooked up to my computer. I have the xecuter power kit used for flashing Lite-ons. Cant I just use that to power the drive.
3. Do I just rip the DVDs like I normally would with my Kreon drive? Will Xbox Backup Creator find my 360 DVD drive if it is hooked up?

I have searched all over the internet. A quick rundown of creating a 0800 drive, then creating backup with that drive would be very helpful.

Re: How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????

1. use xbins, find the iX1.6 0800 fw for benq! (iX1.6 or 1.61 would also work but you would have to power it half open everytime you want to use it)
2. Yes use the power kit to power it during rips
3. Yes XBC will recognise it!

Re: How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????

So iX1.6 0800 is different than straight iXtreme 1.6 firmware that you would normally put on the 360 to play backups?

Re: How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????

@braveheart---Thank you very much. you answer questions so quick its great.

For anyone else who stumbles upon this I will write a summary. I was using my Kreon drive to make backups in the past. I recently discovered that Kreon drives will only output SSv1 backups. Many of the newer games (waves 3, 4, 5, and up in the future) need to be SSv2 backups. The only way to get SSv2 output, is to use an Xbox 360 DVD drive with 0800 dumpable firmware flashed to it. You can use iXtreme 1.6 or 1.61, but you will need to use your xbox console to power the drive each time. You will also have to use the half-open tray method.

I have an extra BenQ dvd drive from a dead Xbox 360, so I will remove the DVD drive from the xbox, flash it with iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware, and install it in my computer (probably do an external install, but whatever--you get the idea...it will be connected to my computer and stay there). iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware is different from iXtreme 1.6 that is used to play burned games. The 0800 FW will allow you to bypass the half-tray open method and install the drive in your computer.

I had a Lite-on 73000 series Xbox before, so I have the Xecuter connectivity kit. I plan on using this to both power the BenQ drive, and connect it to the computer using the SATA to USB connector. I will then be able to rip DVDs with SSv2 using this BenQ DVD drive.

Hopefully this helps out anyone that needs it. Good Luck.

Re: How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????

Update:

-flashed my 360 with LT last night, luckily I have the 83v1 series Lite-on (no additional soldering/cutting necessary). Knocked it out in 30 min.

-flashed iX 1.6 0800 FW to the spare BenQ. All went great.

-ripped my first game with the 0800 BenQ, COD MW2. Wave 4 game, scanned with abgx. Came back all GREEN (and SSv2), burned and played online. Awesome game, awesome firmware (hopefully).

I was surprised how fast the 0800 ripped the game disc. I was running almost 10x at times. Much faster than with my Kreon drive I was using before.

Re: How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????

I have a 0800 drive and it works perfect with recent released games but it will not rip old games with XBC. I have to use WX ripper for old games.

Is there a another version of XBC that rips all games with a 0800 drive?
