Re: How to make a backup using 0800 dumping????
@braveheart---Thank you very much. you answer questions so quick its great.
For anyone else who stumbles upon this I will write a summary. I was using my Kreon drive to make backups in the past. I recently discovered that Kreon drives will only output SSv1 backups. Many of the newer games (waves 3, 4, 5, and up in the future) need to be SSv2 backups. The only way to get SSv2 output, is to use an Xbox 360 DVD drive with 0800 dumpable firmware flashed to it. You can use iXtreme 1.6 or 1.61, but you will need to use your xbox console to power the drive each time. You will also have to use the half-open tray method.
I have an extra BenQ dvd drive from a dead Xbox 360, so I will remove the DVD drive from the xbox, flash it with iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware, and install it in my computer (probably do an external install, but whatever--you get the idea...it will be connected to my computer and stay there). iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware is different from iXtreme 1.6 that is used to play burned games. The 0800 FW will allow you to bypass the half-tray open method and install the drive in your computer.
I had a Lite-on 73000 series Xbox before, so I have the Xecuter connectivity kit. I plan on using this to both power the BenQ drive, and connect it to the computer using the SATA to USB connector. I will then be able to rip DVDs with SSv2 using this BenQ DVD drive.
Hopefully this helps out anyone that needs it. Good Luck.
