I need tho know in a kind of "step by step" way how to use a multimeter to check the fuse on my power supply. I don't know what setting to put it on, and what the readout should be for the fuse weather it is good or bad.

I am also in the process of compiling a tutorial for the complete nOOb such as myself with power supply issues, error codes, and stuff like that with step by step instructions, and pictures with different sections for different xbox versions so anyone who needs them can use them and not have to ask so many repeated questions in the forums.

Also, any info anyone can provide me with links to good info for my tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone :D

Put your meter on the lowest resistance range if its not autoranging, resistance will show an Omega sign (horseshoe) or say ohms or resistance, you should get open circuit or infinate if the fuse is blown or 0 (or really close to 0, 0.2 or 0.3) ohms if the fuse is good.

For a soldering tutorial may I suggest mine at http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=20571&highlight= as a good starting point?!

Ok, now I have another problem......I tested the fuse with my multimeter, and got a reading of 0.03 at 20 Ohms. So the fuse is good, but I still get no power running to the xbox. Can anyone tell me some things I should check and how to check them with my multimeter on the PSU or the MOBO that cold cause this problem??? The fuse is good, but I am still getting no power from the wire harness that goes TO the MOBO, or the HD.
BTW, thanks badassbiker for the info, Ill add that to my tutorial, along with your soldering one. And of course it will be accredited to you.

you didnt know how to use a multimeter - so how can you seriosuley expect to fix an electrical fault ?

I suggest buy a new psu (they are quite cheap) or send it to someone who can repair for you
