You paid for an X3, it would certainly be a waste to put the Evox bios on.

You need a dashboard. My suggestion, download and install Avalaunch.

Avalaunch will in turn download XBOX Media Center, DVD2XBOX, etc.

DVD2XBOX is the program that you are looking for to copy games to your hard drive. It is very easy and automatically patches the games so the original disk is not needed.

Great stuff.. You will end up wasting a lot of time just "tinkering" with it.

Goodl luck!

I use mine for making grilled cheese sandwiches.

Please read the tutorials over at xbox-scene, and learn about dashboards. Avalaunch is good, but if you are starting out, look for "Slayers Evox Auto Installer" as another option - it is a collection of programmes you burn to CD/DVD, and basically does a kitchen sink install of everything you are going to need (and then some). If is a great way to start out.

Once you are comfortable and have tried out the other dashboards that are installed s part of Slayers - Evox, Avalaunch, XBMC, etc) choose the one you like best, upgrade it, and make it the one you use.

The choice of dashboards is definately a personal preference ... and a huge debate in itself that is like the Apple vs PC, Intel vs AMD, nVidia vs ATi, Ford vs Chevy, Swiss vs American, etc., debates - pick a side and defend it to the death :)

Good luck - and remember, the only stupid question is the one that the poster didn't search for an answer for first.

true evox is very simple but if you are new you should be able to handle Avalaunch and is miles ahead of evox get ava, its been said before it will even download dvd2xbox and xbmc for you.

It is under Settings --> Network --> Download (Something like that, it is the option on the very bottom)

make sure your box has a connection to the internet and then go to (I believe) Settings>network>....scroll all the way down and to download> wait a second then you should see the options for dvd2xbox and xbmc click on them to download and watch ava work that magic for you!
