How do You Exchange Hitachi 79 with Liteon

I have a liteon DG-16D2S i wanna exchange with a Hitachi GDR-3120L 79 and i don't know how.

I have my full flashing kit (ck3, usb pro etc) that i bought from xconsoles and the adapter. i get everything plugged in and im lost.

any guides for this?

PS: Hitachi is updated to 15574
Liteon is from xenon on dash 12xxx

Presumably you're doing this on an RGH/JTAG console, or at least one you don't care about playing on Live with? Just dump the key from the Lite-On, flash it to the Hitachi, and hook the Hitachi up to your console. Done. JF tutorial has the exact steps, but that's the overall process.

Dash is irrelevant. The key is stored is always the same for that mobo.

Replacing a drive with one that is not the same and spoofing it, is no longer supported.

Microsoft removed that option from their dashboards. so now if a drive is change, they can easily find it.

It is recommended to replace like for like

If you still want to go ahead. then extract the key from the hitachi. and flash to the liteon

Intriguing, I was not aware that the key could be retrieved from Hitachi slim drives. Good to know though.

It can't be without RGHing the console, OP is talking about a phat Hitachi v79 drive, not a Slim.
