How do you select which dashboard loads?

Hi folks,

With the help of the many guides, posts and links on this site, I have managed to successfully do my first mod. I've now got a shiny 2.6CE and a WD 160GB drive up and running on a 1.4/1.5. I've flashed it to 5035 and used Auto-Installer Deluxe 2.11 to load on what I understood to be key dashboards and apps as I was spinning in circles trying to figure out how to do things individually. I'm pretty much done, but am stuck on one thing...

How do you determine/set which dashboard launches? I've installed Avalaunch, Evox and Media Center, and the only way I seem to be able to get a particular one to launch is to re-install it, meaning the last dashboard I installed is always the one that launches. I thought, obviously incorrectly, that the first dashboard found (in order of appearance) in x2config.ini was the one that would launch, but I noticed that after I installed Media Center, it launched every time, even if I removed it from the dashboard list in the ini file. I tried removing the XBMC and XboxMediaCenter.xml files from E: and that caused an error. It worked fine when I put the files back. I also tried using a non-existent path for XBMC in the dashboard list and it still loaded. So, I re-installed Avalaunch since that's what I want to use for now, and it then became the one that launches every time. There is only one x2config.ini file, and it's in my E root, so I know it's not somthing stupid like the wrong ini file being updated.

Have I missed something in my many days of reading, or is re-installing the only way to switch dashboards? If so, what is the purpose of the dashboard list in the ini file? Also, the ini file dasboard list has e:avalaunch.xbe as the first entry, yet there is no such file on my e root drive (although there is an avalaunch.xml), but avalaunch loads no problem. Is that normal?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Zigboo

5035 reads a config file to determine which dash to load. In that file you will see a list of dashboards. After setting up which dashboard(s) you want, upload the file to your F root.
