hey guys, i brought a xbox that someone had already moded he said it was xecuter 2 so i thought cool thats fine. i brought an X3 chip cuzz i wanted to upgrade a little. i read alot of tutorials about the X2 chips and the x3 so i pulled upart my xbox, lifted out the hard drive then the dvd drive to find NO CHIP! i dont understand how xecuter 2 came up when i boot, or how evox can even run on a Xbox with no actual chip in there. the LPC still has the holes soldered up with no wires connected either, can someone please help me understand how this trick was done??

it could have been softmodded (through an exploit i think), which requires no chip
i'm not sure exactly how its done because i've never done it before

Sounds like a TSOP flash. If this is the case and you paid for a chip then you got ripped off. I don't think you would be seeing the "xecuter 2" thing if it was a soft mod.

If the TSOP was flashed with an Xecuter bios you would.

well look at it like this, at least you have a real chip now, just do the install and be happy man, and when you see the guy you got it from, well you could always tell him what you think about it as well lol
