How important is stealth?

I'm getting ready to flash a v78 and I'm looking at the new iXtreme Hitachi 1.2 rev2 pack. I noticed that every other hacked firmware in the pack had both Media detect 2.0 and Firmware STEALTH, but the v78 only has Media detect (78_16.bin only, no 78_16s.bin present).

No Firmware STEALTH for v78. Should I be worried about my gold account?

look again there is stealth firmware for the v78.

YES stealth is all that matters.

Downloaded the iXtreme_Hitachi_1.2_rev2.rar from xbins. It extracted to a folder named iXtreme-HitachiAll-RTMv3. Opening fwpack.rar there is 28 files which are named

XX.bin is original
XX_16.bin is Hacked (Media detect 2.0)
XX_16s.bin is Hacked and Firwmare STEALTH (Media detect 2.0)

Look closely at the v78 firmware.

Ok, so my new question is, where do I find the stealth firmware you know exists for v78?

its my understanding that is the firmware.the ixtreme firmware will only play stealth backed up games.
i could be wrong.

now that i have looked at it my ixtreme for the sam drives will only play stealth backup games but the hit drives will play game that dont pass the stealth test.
ive got to look into it more,i dont even remember what firmware is on some of my hit. boxes.

Ok, I'll just go through the motions and finish up this box with the 78_16.bin firmware.
I'll just have to be real careful about teaching the owner about stealth patching his discs before burning.

Hmm, not sure about the main package, but I noticed in the revision notes for Firmware Toolbox v4.0 that ixtreme 1.2 was now being used by the Smart Hack Patcher.

Low and behold, it worked.
Tested with a few non stealth games I had laying around. Just as ixtreme should, it didn't load a single one.

So I think I'm pretty safe for the time being.
