how long does it take to boot to xell for first time after flashing ecc. I notice i got my console to boot with no rrod, but just flashes the middle green led. was wondering if it takes a good amount of time or if it should be instant. and do i need the coolrunner hooked up to get to xell?

Depends on the console. Most should be within seconds if done properly. What kind of console do you have?

Yes you need the coolrunner connected to use anything with the RGH. And the boot time various depending on console and motherboard type.

I've only done one Zephyr and it took between 5 and 15 seconds to boot but it never failed to do so.

Zephyr consoles are a pain to glitch and you are lucky if you get one to glitch at all.

The best thing you can do is try tweaking with the wiring and maybe adding a 68nF cap across CPU_PLL_BYPASS and GND like with Jaspers (or bridge the CAP pads if you have a CoolRunner Rev B).

add the cap on the console itself or the coolrunner?

It may or may not improve anything. I put a cab on the one I did and it made it worse. Each console is different. You will just have to try it and see if it helps.

I honestly couldn't say, Zephyr units are finicky consoles and you will be lucky if it boots.

As I said, try adding the cap and altering wire positioning underneath the board.

If he has a CR rev B the capacitor should be on board right?

That is correct, although he wouldn't have asked where to fit the cap if he had a Rev B CoolRunner :)

This usually happens when there is no DVD-ROM connected to the console.
