ok, so about 30 bucks for what i am doing which is bring in the mother board only and not make him do anything but the lpc rebuild which i have he piece that makes it easier, and the soldering of the wires?

Or just ask friends, or co-workers if they solder or know anyone that does. A buisness will skrew you over with price.

They sure will.
The first place i lookd for an install of just the pinheader and 3 wires was $60.
After some looking around i saw a place that did it for only $30

Do it yourself, not that hard. all you need is a steady hand, some soldering skills and a big fan blowing cold air on you so you don't freak out. you can do it! you can do it!!! aaaawwwsome! :roll:

Here is an idea. A friend of mine just found a hole in the wall Tv/radio repair place and the old guy soldered it for $15. Took 15 min. It doesnt have to be an xbox modder to do the soldering.

Why would you tell an inexperienced solderer to attempt this? I've soldered before and I found the small solder points quite challenging. Not to mention, if he screws it up...he'll be buying a new xbox. I bet you guys are the same people telling suicide jumpers to JUMP!!! :wink:

I agree with chickengas the inside of a $150 xbox is not a place to learn to solder. Don't High Schools in Canada teach Electronics shop classes?
Thats where I learned how to do it. I charge $100 for installing plus HDD, Pluss Apps, Plus custom jewel etc., and shipping one way second day air! If it breaks I fix it. if i burn the board I replace it. And I warranty them against Install defects for a year.. Fair price is REALLY determined by the value of what you recieve and how well/long it lasts. Anyone can probably solder this if they have some SKILL.

Which drive is better?

I bought a samsung drive to dedicate as a backup drive. Sadly I didnt tell them about making sure it was the MS 28 until they shipped it out and they dont know lol. Is their any difference in the MS28 and MS25? Does it really matter or am i making a big deal about this! I just wanna make sure if it is the MS25 my backups will be fine, im use to my MS28.

The diff between MS25 and m28 is one is newer than the other right?

I have asked that specific question here earlier....I was told that Liteon drives are quietier drives...from what i read both types are good for making backups... it all boils down to price for me

its just a revision number mate when flashing they will use the same firmware and will run games the same as with everything else use good media
