My xbox always boots to freestyle. Everything works fine, but I would like to change some settings in dash launch. How can I go to dash launch? It must be terribly simple, but I have been searching for it for hours, and I cannot see how to do it.

My launch.ini is below. Actually, I have 3 launch.ini files; one on the HDD, which is more or less empty, and two (?) on the flash that are equal in size. one of them is the following:

Don't know what the BUT_X refers to, the folder does not exist.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

[Paths]
BUT_X = Hdd:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00080000\C0DE99990F586558
Default = Hdd:\FreeStyle\default.xex
[Plugins]
[Settings]
nooobe = False
nohealth = False
nonetstore = True
fakelive = False
xhttp = True
remotenxe = True
liveblock = True
exchandler = True
noupdater = True

Google Dashlaunch and download it. Place it on your hard drive in a folder called homebrew or similar. Configure FSD to browse that folder as homebrew. When its setup properly, it should show up in the homebrew tab in FSD.

Pretty crude instructions but they should give you an idea on how it's done.

Thanks a lot for the help.

If I recall correctly, the guy who did the JTAG/RGH mentioned that he installed it to the memory. After that I replaced the hard disk by a bigger one. Also before I installed FSD on the new hard disk, I remembered I saw the dash launch screen. So I think I have it (unless it is not possible to install it to memory), but I am not sure.

Will a new version of DL on the hard drive interfere with the one on the memory?

Will it boot to dash launch if I remove FSD?

The program you run is actually dashlaunch configurator. Dashlaunch is probably already running if installed on your memory (nand). Just google dashlaunch as has been suggested and place it on your hard drive somewhere and go through FSD's menu option to find the default.xex file.

Thanks all! That makes a lot of sense. It is running from the nand, but can be configured from the HDD. That is why Live is blocked, why it boots to FSD, and my updates are blocked. And probably also why I have a launch.ini in the first place. I will download and install it.

also the BUT_X is the big blue button with an X on it on your gamepad!!

it refers to the fact that dashlaunch can assign a set path to all the buttons on your gamepad so when you boot the console and hold the respective button, it loads whatever file youve put on the shortcut.

i always have XEXMENU on my X button but its a personal choice
